Accelerated Basketball Academy - Ladies!

We as a coaching staff wanted to start our tenure at BYU-H by holding our first all women's basketball camp. The young ladies really got a lot of individual coaching and instruction and had improved their game tremendously. Our main focus was to work hard on developing their skills, and also giving them an opportunity to play in the open court and learn how to be a good teammate. Each day we had them fill out a shooting chart and keep track of each shot they took. Most girls shot over 1,200 shots and a few girls shot over 2,000 shots. We would like the thank the parents that have trusted in us to develop their daughters' basketball skills. We're grateful for each young lady who put in a lot of hard work in accelerating their level of play. Big mahalo to our staff who worked hard the whole week so each camper could have a positive experience. Thanks to all, and may all your "SWISHES" come true!

Seasiders Skillz and Drillz Camp II

Another successful camp comes to an end! It's such a great feeling to see at the end of the camp how much you have all improved. There's those special transformations in some of you, going from not being interested to being really competitive. It has been a thrill seeing these young people grow just by participating and having the confidence that they can achieve more.

The Skillz and Drillz camp accomplished what it set out to do. We worked on your "Skillz" by giving you "Drillz" so now you can go and put it into action. As coaches, being with you for the last 4 days, we have really gotten close to you campers. As it came to the end it was emotional...not as a weakness, but emotional seeing the purpose of the camp in every camper. Each of you found the value in working hard, playing together, and developing the skills to build your confidence.

A big thank you to BYU-Hawaii, the camp coaching staff, and our trainers for being there for us. To the parents of our communities, a big MAHALO for allowing your sons or daughters to be a participant in this years' camp! To all our campers, thank you again and may all your "SWISHES" come true!
